About the Family
The El Terek family fled Syria in 2016 as refugees, leaving their family farm and immigrating to Moncton. With community support, the family of 10 were able to access social housing; however, it has not been an adequate living space for the size of the family, nor is it fully accessible for the eldest son who has a disability. A Habitat home will ensure that the family has a home that addresses their needs for a safe and accessible home.
